The U.S. has the highest rate of citizens incarcerated than any other industrialized country in the world. Why? It's too profitable to do otherwise. In 2020, over 2 million people are behind bars in the U.S. Over 70% of the 2 million are awaiting trial and haven't even been convicted of any crime. These inmates don't have the money, resources or advocacy to post bond/bail to get out. But wait, there's more... Although Blacks are only 12% of the U.S. population, they represent over 38% of the population behind bars. Hispanics comprise 16.3% of the U.S. population, yet they represent 21% of those behind bars. California leads the nation in the number of people incarcerated as highlighted by the red star on the map. Please help JUST US DENIED, INC. ensure color blind bail reform and a more equitable approach to detention. After all, color should not be a crime!
